Full course description
This course offers a survey of key topics in psychology, including history, research methods, memory, child development, clinical and social psychology, and more. Students will gain a foundational understanding of psychological research methodology and conduct their own supervised study. Additionally, students will apply psychology concepts to the news, and their favorite movies and TV shows, analyzing characters, plots, and contexts using the course material. By the end of the course, students will be able to describe core psychological concepts and apply them, distinguish among various fields of psychology, discuss significant studies in the field and critically differentiate normal and abnormal psychological processes.
